FAQ

How do I join?

Joining a group class depends on available spaces. Occasionally you may need to go on a waiting list. Once you have joined a class you will automatically keep your place for the following term if you wish to continue.

Do I need to complete an Enrolment Form?

Before attending your first class you will need to complete a Client Enrolment Form which will allow your teacher to access your ability and to make amendments to exercises to suit your requirements. The enrolment form can be downloaded from this website or please request a paper copy.

I’m new to Pilates, can I come and try a class and see how I get on?

You are welcome to attend a taster session (at a cost of £12) if you are looking to book onto a course. It is advisable to attend a 1-1 introductory session (at a reduced rate of £20) if you are a beginner.

How long is each course and what happens if I’m away for a week?

All classes are mat work based, which are run in blocks of between 4 – 8 weeks to fit in with the school term time. If you are away then you will be eligible for a catch up class if prior notice has been given. You can catch up in any class within the current block of classes, space permitting.

What levels are your classes and do you use equipment?

Classes range from beginner to intermediate level and are kept to a maximum of 12 people per class. I teach with a variety of small equipment including small balls, bands, toning circles and foam rollers.

How much is a course of classes and how do I pay?

Classes work out at £11.00 per class, therefore for example a 5 week course would be £55. Due to the nature of the classes, terms must be booked up and paid in advance before the first session to reserve your space. If you are wanting to book onto a course that has already started then please contact me. Cash, cheque or BACS are all accepted methods of payment.

What do I need to wear?

Comfortable clothing which allows freedom of movement such as tracksuit bottoms, leggings and a t-shirt. Preferably not too excessively baggy so posture and alignment can be checked. Pilates is done either barefoot, or in socks with a non-slip sole. Please keep jewellery to a minimum and tie long hair back.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You will need to bring your own mat, plus 2 small head cushions or towels for head support. Ideally your mat should be no less than 12mm deep to provide enough comfort and support for your shoulders/hips/knees/back. Also, please bring a bottle of water with you.
